How to manifest
Becoming a different version of you than you were yesterday to get what you desire tomorrow.
Manifestation has gotten the social connotation of “just think it, believe it, or visualize it and it’ll come to you.” While I do pay attention to my thoughts and what I’m putting into the universe, manifestation isn’t quite what many market it as.
Laying around your house thinking about making money or having a boyfriend magically appear in your life isn’t likely to do too much for you.
You can become the person you want to be and create a life you love, but a key component is taking action.
Go ahead and visualize your dream self and/or your dream life.
The you in your visualization probably has different qualities, habits, and beliefs than the current you.
The real key to manifesting what you desire is becoming the version of yourself that takes action toward your desires. There’s a really good chance it also means creating new narratives and beliefs, improving your relationship with yourself, and changing your inner dialogue.
So let’s try a different manifestation exercise:
Step 1: Write out a goal you have, something you’d like to have in your life, or something about you that you’re looking to change (just pick 1 for this exercise - overwhelm often leads to inaction ;) )
Step 2: Write out your current habits, your current routines, the beliefs you have about your life, and the beliefs you have about you
I know, I know. This seems like a lot. Maybe you don’t feel like doing all this work or subconsciously don’t want to look at these things. I get it. But I challenge you to challenge those thoughts. We have to shine a light on these things in order for change to happen.
So go ahead, get out your cute little notebook, set a timer for 15 minutes, and write what comes to mind. It doesn’t have to be perfect :).
Oof, you did the uncomfortable thing, got honest with yourself, and shed some light on why you are where you are currently (which btw, where you are now is NOT a bad thing!). PROUD OF YOU.
Step 3: Let’s take a look back at what you wrote down for Step #1. What behaviors (you can include habits and routines) and beliefs would someone need to have to achieve/have this?
THIS is the golden nugget. The answers to this step right here are the yellow brick road to getting what you desire.
Step 4: Create an action plan.
Now you see what you need to DO and who you need to BE. How are you going to get from point A to point B?
Looking at the beliefs you need to cultivate and behaviors you need to do - how are you going to get yourself there?
You can initially just quickly brainstorm, but I highly encourage you to create a concrete plan, write it out, and set up structures and reminders to help you follow through.
Doesn’t it feel good to have so much clarity? Clarity is so helpful in taking action and moving the needle as we’re no longer just floating around or getting overwhelmed in our minds, which usually ends up blocking us from taking action. You now have so much more awareness and a concrete path (that is allowed to shift and change if it needs to) to follow to get you to where you want to go.
If you realize you’re not really sure what beliefs you need to shift, how to shift your beliefs, what actions will help get you to your goal, or how to break down your action steps into a concrete plan to follow, I’d love to help out.
